Alicia Dixon-Ibarra has a PhD in kinesiology and an MPH in epidemiology from Oregon State University. She has published numerous epidemiological studies that examine the health of persons with disabilities using large surveillance system data. Alicia was the Healthy Communities coordinator for Special Olympics Oregon in 2017 and spent many years as a Special Olympics coach/volunteer. As the Senior Manager of Research and Evaluation at Special Olympics Inc, she works collaboratively with colleagues to assess health outcomes of Special Olympics athletes, conduct needs assessments with local and state health departments, and evaluate fitness programming.
