Andrea Moreno is an athlete from Special Olympics El Salvador in the Latin America Region. Andrea participates in track where she has competed at the national level many times. She has been involved in Special Olympics since 2019.
Andrea started her own business called Checheritos 503 where she sells jewelry. In Special Olympics, aside from participating and competing in track, Andrea is a Health Messenger. In 2020 Andrea participated in the Regional Youth Leadership Summit which was held in Guatemala.
Andrea is an athlete leader. She says that Special Olympics is very important. Special Olympics has taught her to trust in herself and be confident that she has what it takes to succeed.
Project Description
Andrea’s grant plan, “Walking Together Towards Leadership” will focus on raising awareness and empowering athletes to have significant roles in society. The Project will include training in leadership, assisting at competitions, and communicating effectively through all forms of media. Professionals will assist Andrea in providing these trainings as well as planning the details. It is very important to achieve the objective of developing and increasing meaningful leadership as a determining factor in the role of decision making for athletes which will empower them all.
