Michael is an epidemiologist and public health professional with more than 15 years of experience in global health research and advocacy. His previous roles in the voluntary health sector include senior positions at Autism Speaks and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where he managed the organizations’ global and domestic public health programs. Most recently, Michael was Vice President of Research and Strategy at Discovery (Publicis Health), where he led efforts to identify the healthcare challenges and improve access to care among various patient communities. Michael has been a speaker at the United Nations General Assembly and a consultant to the World Health Organization, and his work has brought him to more than 50 countries worldwide. Michael is a dad to 3 young athletes, husband to a former Division I collegiate swimmer, and is a two-time NYC Marathon finisher himself. His personal connection to the autism and intellectual disabilities communities is just one of the reasons why the work of Special Olympics is so important to him.
