Khadija Sy, the silver medal-winning 200m sprinter from the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi, is back in action. This time, she's at the 2023 World Games in Berlin, Germany—as accredited media for the Games!
It all started one year ago, when Khadija began using her photo skills to take great photographs of her fellow athletes, plus volunteers, at her Program, Special Olympics Senegal. Now, after hard work and persistence, she has received her official photo bib/credential to cover the World Games in Berlin, alongside media from around the world!
Khadija and her team are ready to catch all the action for the 30 Team Senegal athletes competing across six different sports. In the spirit of these Games, her media team is unified—bringing together people with and without intellectual disabilities—and includes her sibling Aïcha Marieme and her father Makha, himself a media professional.
